Today was interesting. It seemed like it would never end. In fact, here it is, almost midnight after the Suns/Lakers game and I'm still up and writing stuff.
I got to work at around 9:30 this morning and have been working on Suns.com stuff ever since. When Shaquille O'Neal comes to your team, there's a lot of stuff to do.
I won't rehash all of the details of today but the coolest thing for me was that I got to take pictures of Shaq arriving for the Suns.com home page. There wasn't a lot of light in the loading dock when he arrived and we were backing up taking pictures, trying not to get in ESPN's way while still getting our own shots. But I think I got a pretty good shot of him arriving! Here it is on the front page of Suns.com tonight:
The background is a little blurry but I was just proud to see my name up as the credit for the photo!

One More Valentine's Day Post
My last Valentine's Day post of the day. I made the news today with the guy I hugged in front of the arena today (see post before this one). It's kind of embarrassing but Jen loved it.
Sorry for the poor quality. I still can't figure out how to burn a video to my DVD and then rip it onto my computer...
And I cut it a bit so it would actually upload to the blog.

Happy Valentine's Day, Part Deux
There was a guy who was standing outside the arena today with a sign saying "Free Hugs." My boss and co-workers bet me that I wouldn't go down and give him a hug. I finagled a free lunch out of them at Lolo's Chicken and Waffles if I did it and headed down.
When I got closer to the guy, I realized that he had glitter on his chest. That scared me off a bit and I only gave him a side "guy-hug". After I went back upstairs, I decided to try it again and brought him down a Verve Energy Drink (Official Energy Drink of the Phoenix Suns!)
This time I figured I was down there and I may as well get my free lunch if I was going to do this twice.

I LOVE MY JOB!!
Most, if not all, of you know by now that I work for the Suns. And you've probably heard that there's a little excitement going on these days with the trade of Shawn Marion & Marcus Banks for Shaquille O'Neal.
Because I work for the web site, I was able to attend the press conference. And I can say it was the best day of work I've had here so far. Shaq is absolutely hilarious. He has already given him the title of Assistant Vice-President General Manager of the Phoenix Suns. He promised that he would make both Amare Stoudemire and Raja Bell better players. He pointed out that he couldn't really make Steve Nash any better. And he said that all of the negativity in the national press only encourages him more. His quote: "When I get mad, I win championships." He told us that when he called his mom to tell her he was on TV everywhere talking about him, she reminded him that a team is made up of "we" not "me".
This little ride I'm on right now with the Suns just got a heckuva lot more interesting!
